This Privacy Policy explains how Til. ("Til.", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the app.

Til. is built with privacy in mind. We do not require an account, we do not run ads, and we do not operate our own user database or servers.

What We Collect

On Your Device

Til. stores all of your event data and application settings locally on your device so the app can function correctly. This includes:

Events you create (title, date, photo if added, notification reminders and recurrence).
Plans you add to an event (tasks, notes, links and plan reminders).
App preferences (selected theme, folders, display units and import settings).
Subscription status.

Contacts and Calendar (Optional)

If you turn on Smart Import, Til. looks through the contacts and calendar already on your device and suggests dates you might want to count to. This happens entirely on your device. Til. reads names, event titles and dates only — never photos, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, locations, attendees or event descriptions. When you save a suggestion, only the name or title and the date are stored, exactly as if you had typed them in yourself. Nothing is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere to send it: we still have no servers and no user database.

Til. never asks for these permissions on its own. You have to open the import screen and tap to start, and you can turn either source off at any time in your device settings.

All of this information is stored locally using the operating system's secure storage. We never see it, and we do not collect or store it on our own servers.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to enable Cloud Sync (a Pro feature):

On iPhone / iPad: Your event data syncs to your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. Til. cannot read this data — only your authenticated devices can.
On Android: Your event data syncs to a private, hidden app data folder in your Google Drive account. Til. only has access to this specific folder and cannot see or access your other Google Drive files.

In both cases, your data goes between your devices via your own cloud account. We have no servers and we do not see or touch your data.

Shared Countdowns (Optional)

When you share a countdown as a link or a QR code, the countdown itself is encoded into the link. The link carries the title, the date, the event type, the icon and the repeat setting — nothing else. It never carries your photos, your notes, your plans or your reminders.

The data lives in the link, not on a server. If someone opens your link without Til. installed, the page at iseif.dev/til/e/ reads the countdown out of the link in their browser and shows it to them. Nothing is uploaded, and we never see what you shared or who you shared it with.

Analytics and Diagnostics

Til. does not use any third-party analytics services or crash reporting libraries to collect app usage statistics, diagnostics, or crash data. If analytics or crash reporting are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those changes are released.

Website Analytics

The public Til. website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement to understand page visits and clicks on the App Store and Google Play buttons. These website tools may receive browser and device information, the page visited, network information such as an IP address, and the store button clicked, subject to Google's own privacy terms.

These analytics scripts are part of the website only. They are not included in the Til. app and never receive your Til. events, contacts, calendar dates, plans, reminders or photos. The app itself contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.

Purchases

When you purchase Til. Pro, the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Google) handles the payment. We receive only an anonymous transaction receipt confirming the purchase status — never your payment details, credit card, email, or name.

What We Don't Do

We don't have user accounts.
We don't sell or share your data with third parties.
We don't show advertisements.
We don't track you across other apps or websites.
We don't use your event data to train AI models or for any other purpose.

Your Choices and Rights

You have absolute control over your data:

Delete your data: Simply uninstall the app from your device, and all locally stored app data is deleted.
Stop cloud sync: Toggle off Cloud Sync in Settings to stop uploading data to your iCloud or Google Drive.
Contacts and Calendar: Deny or revoke either permission at any time in your device settings. Til. continues to work without Smart Import.
Shared links: Anyone who receives a shared link can read the encoded countdown details, so share a link only with people you intend to receive it.
Website analytics: You can limit cookies and similar website storage through your browser settings or privacy tools.

Children's Privacy

Til. does not require users to create an account and does not ask users to provide personal contact information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected any personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and make the new version available on this page.
