This Privacy Policy explains how WordSum ("WordSum", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the app.

Information Stored on Your Device

WordSum stores gameplay preferences, statistics, and progress locally on your device so the app can work correctly. This may include:

• Game settings such as sound effects, haptic feedback, value set, color-blind mode, and theme toggles.
• Gameplay statistics such as daily puzzle streak, longest streak, total puzzles solved, best Endless score, and best Budget word.
• Daily puzzle state such as the last solved date, the target number, and the number of tries taken.
• Unlocked content such as owned word packs, owned tile skins, hint balance, and Remove Ads status.
• Active selections such as the chosen word pack and tile skin.

This information is stored locally using device storage. We do not collect or store it on our own servers. You can reset gameplay statistics in the app settings, and you can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.

Advertising

WordSum uses Google AdMob to show ads, including interstitial and rewarded ads. Google and its partners may collect or receive information from your device to provide ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and comply with their policies. This may include device identifiers, advertising identifiers where available, approximate location, ad interactions, diagnostics, and usage information related to ads.

Google may use this information for personalized or non-personalized advertising depending on your device settings, consent choices, and applicable law. Ads are not shown if you have purchased the Remove Ads in-app purchase.

In-App Purchases

WordSum offers optional in-app purchases, such as Remove Ads, word pack unlocks, tile skin unlocks, hint packs, and a bundle. Purchases are processed by the app store provider for your device, such as Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details. The app may store purchase status locally so purchased content remains unlocked.

Analytics

WordSum does not currently use a third-party analytics service to collect app usage analytics for us. If analytics are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that change is released.

Sharing Features

WordSum may let you share daily result cards or app links using the sharing tools provided by your device. Sharing is optional and initiated only by you. When you choose to share, the information is handled by the apps or services you select in the system share sheet, and their privacy policies apply. Share cards are designed to be spoiler-free and do not reveal the puzzle answer word.

External Links

The app may open external links, such as an app store page, privacy policy page, or support page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites or services.

Children's Privacy

WordSum does not require users to create an account and does not ask users to provide contact information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children on our own servers. The app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requirements and Apple's guidelines. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can review and delete the issue.

Data Retention

Locally stored game settings, progress, and purchase unlock state remain on your device until you reset them where the app provides that option, clear app data, or delete the app. Information handled by third-party services, such as advertising networks or app store providers, is retained according to those services' own policies.

Your Choices

You can control some data use through your device and app settings:

• Reset gameplay statistics in the app settings.
• Delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
• Purchase Remove Ads to stop seeing advertisements.
• Use device privacy settings to limit ad tracking or advertising personalization where available.
• Manage purchases, refunds, and subscriptions through your app store account settings.

Security

We use platform-provided storage and app store purchase systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit the information we handle directly by keeping gameplay data local where possible.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and make the new version available at this page.
